Badrinath is one of the char dhams of the Uttarakhand! Sri Adi Shankara resided there and commenced its construction and was completed in 8th century.

Despite winter, the temple is closed due to the lockdown, the holy gates of this shrine will be reopened for devotees from 4.15 am on May 18 2021 after the winter break. Located in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, portals to the sacred pilgrim site will be closed after Diwali as the temple will be covered with a thick blanket of snow in winter.

The pitching containing oil Gadughada, which is sent from the palace to the temple before opening the shrine will resume custom from April 29th.
