Ever since we’ve been wondering why there were no recent adding from India for UNESCO World Heritage Sites, out of 9 places, 6 made to the tentative list. Every Ancient place in the land is actually worthy to be one in those places as they’re been undergoing due neglect and vandalism. However, these places gave some hope to historical monument lovers.
Apart from the various historic sites, some much awaited temples were also part of this tentative list. 1, Satpura Tiger Reserve, 2. Iconic Riverfront of The City of Varanasi, 3. Hire Benkal Megalithic site, 4. Millitary Archetecture of Maratha Empire, 5. Bhedaghat-Lametaghat in Narmada Valley –Jabalpur, 6. Temples of Kanchipuram.
The same was mentioned by a Tweet from ASI. As per the nomination procedure, any country can have their historical sitesinto Tentative List and now India has 48 sites. Situated at the River Bank of Vegavathi, the City of thousand temples, Kanchipuram, which now has 126 Ancient Temples, with 108 Temples of Shiva and 18 of Vishnu Temples were collectively entered the Tentative list.
