The Konark Sun Temple is among the list of 12 iconic sites which will be covered under Phase IV of the special clean-up campaign under the Swachh Iconic Places (SIP) in India.
Along with Konark, Ramdevra Temple in Rajasthan, Golconda Fort from Telangana, Rock Garden of Chandigarh, Ajanta Caves from Maharashtra, Sanchi Stupa from Madhya Pradesh, Kumbhalgarh Fort and Jaisalmer Forts of Rajasthan, Dal Lake from Jammu and Kashmir, Banke Bihari Temple from Uttar Pradesh, Agra Fort and Kalighat Temple of West Bengal.
However, it is a strange thing that not one temple from south India except Telangana has been taken under this category for this session of SIP. Let’s envision they’ll consider them for the next batch.
