Music has a subtle impact on Humanity that it can elevate oneself higher than what he or she was, when frequencies are rightly used, any ailment can be cured. Such a miraculous phenomena has been performed by an 18th century saint, Tyagaraja – The Master Of Music. He wrote wonderful Telugu songs on The Ram where he expressed his wish of seeking a soldier’s place in Lord Ram’s army.
He’s born into a Telugu Brahmin Family as Kakarla Tyagabrahmam in Tiruvarur, in present Tamil Nadu. He mastered Carnatic Music and walked the philosophy of Lord Ram, he’s later known as Tyagaraja. He’s initiated into music by Sonti Venkataramanayya.
Tyagaraja is said to have healed many people with his music and initiated a large number into the path of enlightenment. By hearing his genius, the king of Thanjavur invited him to be a part of his court musicians and offered him huge gifts in return. But Tyagaraja refused them by saying, Nidhi Chala Sukhama? Ramuni Sannidhi Sukhama? (What’s the greatest comfort? Riches or to be in the presence of The Ram?).
