Medaram Village is known for the great beings who overcame humanity and became the legendary masters, Sammakka and Saralamma.

On Wednesday in the Medaram village of Mulugu District, Telangana began the mini Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara on a grand scale.

On the occasion of Magha Suddha Pournami, the temple priests performed special rituals, marking the beginning of the celebrations while the priests are yet to bring the deities of Sammakka and Saralamma to the temple from the jungle. Thus, all the priests performed ‘Manda Melige’ at the temple, as it remains one of the major rituals associated with the Mini Jatara.

Priests from Siddaboina clan perform rituals at Sammakka temple in Medaram Village while priests of Kaka Krishnaiya clan perform rituals at Saralamma temple in Kanneboinapalli village. The temple authorities are expecting a million devotees to visit the temple during the fest.
