Sri Adi Shankaracharya hails from Kaladi of Kerala, travelled across India to openly demonstrate the godly abilities within man. He states that God and I are one which in turn is the Advaita Vedanta.
Adi Shankara’s philosophy is greatly captured in the texts of Vivekachudamani where he speaks of the God within being the observer and the human mind is the water that reflects the sun.
Shankara performed various miracles like body switch, levitation, walking on water. He established various shakti pethas across the nation. He also visited Pancha Kedars and taught extensively to large groups of people.
His teachings are simple, he says:
“Knowing that I am different from the body, yet I need not neglect the body. It is a vehicle that I use to interact with the world. It is the temple which houses the Pure-Self within.” – Adi Shankara.
