Mukundalal Gosh, none other than the great Indian yogi and father of yoga in the West, Paramahansa Yogananda. Incarnated on January 5th, in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, to a Kayastha Bengali family.
Since his childhood, he experienced many divine miracles. His love for God within was so immense and powerful. He found a great Guru named Shri Yukteshwar Giri, who helped him like his father to grow spiritually even more. He’s a lineage of Maha Avatar Babaji.
Yogananda became well known for his book called ‘An autobiography of a Yogi!’ This masterpiece guided many people in their journey towards their inner God. This book became a best seller in the 20th century. Yogananda was the first Indian yogi who settled in America. And the first prominent Indian to be hosted in the white house.
He founded the Self-realization fellowship, Yogoda Satsanga society. His teachings influenced millions of people. Not just America, but he got worldwide fame for his simple way of life and for his wisdom.
